Set on a private one-acre parcel in an established neighborhood of Pasadena, this lot, once part of a retired golf course, features an established building pad perched above a lower meadow and spring fed pond. The proposed residence, which is a contemporary interpretation of the Pueblo buildings, of the American Southwest is a “U” shaped courtyard plan, with most of the courtyard occupied by a generous interior public space with sliding glass walls connecting the interior space with the adjacent exterior public space. Other program spaces surround this public space and take advantage of intimate views of the property, distant views and environmental orientations.
