This property is located on an irregular shaped lot with several mature oak trees. The house is designed to respect the drip lines of these trees while capturing views of the Berkeley hills and the San Francisco Bay. The plan is organized by two grids which respond to the irregular shaped lot lines. From the street the entrance of the home is identified by a forced perspective created by the intersection of the two organizing grids and reinforced by the use of a wall which begins at the front of the house then pierces the interior space and reappears again in the rear.
